AOC LUBERON
Founded in 1988 with the creation of the AOC Luberon, La Royère has been owned by the Hugues family for several generations.
The estate spans 40 hectares in organic farming, with no use of herbicides or chemical fertilizers. Sustainable soil management promotes permanent natural grass cover and vineyard biodiversity.
La Royère terroir is predominantly sandy, with patches of pebbles promoting soil drainage. More than half of the vineyard is pruned in Gobelet, with the remainder in double Cordon de Royat, and the oldest vines are over a hundred years old.
60% of the production is hand-harvested to ensure optimal wine quality, with yields limited to around 30hl/ha, allowing for high concentrations of polyphenols and interesting total acidity. In the winery, additives are limited to fully express the terroir typicity.
